The Setting. Three hundred forty beautiful acres in the village of New Hampton, nestled in the foothills of the White Mountains; thirty miles north of Concord, New Hampshire, and one hundred miles north of Boston.

The Philosophy. New Hampton School's philosophy is based on two broad concepts: respectful, responsible relationships between students and adults; and educating the whole student in the whole community.

The People. 325 female and male students: 260 boarding, 65 day; 27 states, 30 countries. Faculty and administrators: 40 women and 42 men. Student-faculty ratio 5:1.

The Campus. Twelve residential houses varying in size, each with resident house parents/family. Main buildings: classrooms and science laboratories, three computer labs, research center and library, arts and athletics complex. Photography labs, theater, studios for the arts (dance, music, and media production), climbing wall, five athletic fields, nine tennis courts, hockey rink, ski and snowboard center, two ponds, and a 325-acre mountain area for outdoor recreation.

The Academics. The Foundations of Learning curriculum is an extension of our philosophy shaping every facet of the New Hampton experience. New Hampton provides the necessary rigor and support for each individual student with offerings in the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, and Academic Support. Average class size: 11 students.

The Arts. An extraordinary array of courses, including comedic improv, environmental art, media productions, design for communications, 2D and 3D design, photography, and contemporary music ensemble. 

The Athletics. Interscholastic/teams: alpine skiing, baseball, basketball, cross country, equestrian, field hockey, football, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, mountain biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, soccer, softball and tennis.

The College Process.  Highly individualized college counseling process: our senior class of over 100 students will matriculate to more than 85 different colleges and universities.  From small liberal arts colleges to large urban universities our students are attending schools like Cornell, Columbia, St. Lawrence University, Princeton University, University of Colorado Boulder, Holy Cross, Trinity College, Connecticut College, Brown University, Bates College, Swarthmore College, Williams College, UNH, and Boston College.

Other Programs. Experiential education and service learning; Project Week; yearbook; campus jobs, proctorships,  clubs, and student government.
