How To Apply To New Hampton School

STEP 1 - INQUIRE NOW

Thank you for your interest in New Hampton School! If you haven’t already done so, please complete our inquiry form and tell us about yourself so we can share more information with you.
STEP 2 - SCHEDULE A VISIT

Come visit us in the beautiful Lakes Region of New Hampshire! Campus visits take approximately 2 hours and include a tour, interview, and time with members of our community. Prior to scheduling your visit, kindly complete our pre-visit form so we can better prepare for your visit. If you have a specific request to meet a coach or program director, please let us know when scheduling your visit.  

Interviews are required for all applicants. We request on-campus interviews, however, if you are unable to visit our campus we can interview via Skype or FaceTime.

STEP 3 - APPLY

We look forward to getting to know you through the application process! The application is an opportunity for you to share your strengths and interests with us. As daunting and complex questions can be, have fun with this part of the process. This is a unique opportunity for you to express "you", and no one can do that better than you!

Applications are due on February 1st.

New Hampton School accepts the SSATB Standard Application Online (SAO). To begin the application process, please visit SSATB Standard Application Online (SAO). Once you have paid the application fee, we will receive notification from SSATB that you are applying and the following required materials will be available in your SAO portal and will need to be submitted to complete your application:
 
  • Student Profile
  • Parent Statement
  • Student Essay
  • English Recommendation
  • Math Recommendation
  • Principal/Guidance Counselor Recommendation
  • Official School Reports and Transcripts

Through your SAO portal you will need to provide email addresses for your teachers and administrators in order for them to complete the recommendations along with the school reports and transcripts.  

Note: A personal recommendation from an employer, coach, family friend, etc. is OPTIONAL and may be submitted along with other materials through your SAO portal or by emailing a pdf to admission@newhampton.org.
STEP 4 - TESTING

We require a form of standardized testing from each applicant.

  • For 9th and 10th graders, we request the SSAT placement exam. SSAT score reports can be sent directly to us when you register for your SSAT and add New Hampton School as a score recipient. For more information and to register for the SSAT, please visit ssat.orgOur SSAT school code is 5308.
  • For 11th graders through postgraduates, we request the PSAT, SAT, or ACT. For PSAT/SAT/ACT registration, talk directly with your guidance counselor. Our SAT and ACT school code is 300440.
    • For International applicants the SSAT placement exam is preferred, however, we will accept a TOEFL exam report. Our TOEFL school code is 8082.
      Note: Registration for some tests may not be possible at later dates. If you are unable to register for the SSAT or PSAT/SAT/ACT, please contact us at 603-677-3401 or admission@newhampton.org. On a case-by-case basis we will consider applications without this testing. Upon occasion, nationally-normed school testing (CAT, Regents, MCAS, ISEE) or individual educational testing (WISC, WAIS, Woodcock-Johnson) can be substituted.
      APPLYING FOR AID

      To be considered for aid, in addition to completing the SSATB Standard Application Online (SAO), families are required to complete a financial aid application. Families may begin their financial aid application for the 2019-2020 academic year on November 1, 2018. For priority consideration, Financial Aid applications are due February 1st.       Admission decisions are mailed and emailed on March 10th. 
      An independent, college preparatory school for boarding and day students, grades 9-12 and postgraduate.
