New Hampton School hosts 3 main-stage productions each year, at least one of which is a musical.
Behind the Scenes
The technical theatre programming at New Hampton School gives students hands-on experience bringing stage performances to life. Offered both as a class and a co-curricular activity, students work with professional-level equipment and learn the art and science of lighting, sound, set, and costume design. From creating immersive atmospheres to supporting performers behind the scenes, this program equips students with the technical skills and creative problem-solving abilities essential for modern theatre production.
An Inside Look
Musical Moments
Our theatre department brings musicals to life with energy, music, and dance. Each year, students shine in one to two full-scale productions, often featuring live pit orchestras and guidance from professional artists. With choreography, ensemble work, and dynamic performance opportunities, students develop their skills, confidence, and stage presence while experiencing the thrill of making a musical come alive for an audience. You're not just seeing the theatre kid up there, or the athlete up there. You're seeing a New Hampton student up there. And ultimately, that's the most important part of what we do. Theatre at New Hampton is for everybody.
