Bicentennial

Welcome

Honor our past, imagine our possibilities.

The New Hampton Academy was founded on September 17, 1821. The early days of the school were hosted in a two-story, twenty-four by thirty-two-foot building in the town center. No blackboards, few teaching tools, but determination and support from its community and people. The school has undergone several reinventions over the years, eventually renaming itself the New Hampton School in 1959. September 17, 2021 will be New Hampton School's 200th anniversary.

In honor of this momentous occasion, the school will engage faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community with celebratory programs to inspire, remember, and imagine the next 200 years at New Hampton School.

200 Years, 7 Names, Endless Opportunities

"As we approach our Bicentennial, we have an incredible opportunity to honor and learn about our past. At the same time, our current strengths allow us to imagine the opportunities before us as we look to the next two-hundred years."

Joseph P. Williams P'22
23rd Head of School at New Hampton School
