Working Together Towards a Common Goal

  • Equestrian Fall Coed

    2023 - 2024
    Head Coach: Amanda Cote

The goal of the New Hampton Equestrian program is to help its members grow into adults by providing them with the support and guidance they need to succeed not only as equestrians, but also in life. Teamwork is a large aspect of reaching this goal. In order to be successful, riders need to be able to work flawlessly with their horses to accomplish the challenges they encounter together. Members of the equestrian team are also expected to work together in order to complete the daily tasks required of them each day at the riding facility and at competitions.

Twice a month The New Hampton School invites guest clinicians to teach the Equestrian Team. These clinicians include, but are not limited to, Event Rider Peter Atkins and Hunter Jumper Instructor/Trainer Joe Forest.  Clinics provide team members with the opportunity to ride with a specialized instructor who can help expand their knowledge in a more intensive semi private lesson.

Competitive Spirit

The Equestrian Team competes in a minimum of five competitions a season and attends horse shows with the goal of having an enjoyable experience in which team members can demonstrate the skills they have learned and set goals for the future.  The team travels throughout New England to attend horse shows sanctioned by organizations such as:

The Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA)
The New Hampshire High School Equestrian Teams (NHHSET)
United States Eventing Association (USEA)
United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)
