Undefeated!

For the fourth time this season, the New Hampton Huskies faced the Proctor Academy Hornets. And for the fourth time, the Huskies skated away with the victory, completing their undefeated season.  Helen Xu '28 started things off for the Huskies in the first period scoring at the 10 minute mark.  Senior captain Jocelyn Smith '26 then knocked home a rebound in her final game as a Husky, making it 2-0. Proctor quickly answered and pulled with 1.  Finishing the first period, Xu and senior captain Callie Paquette '26 each added a goal putting the Huskies up 4-1 at the end of the period. Playing with a shortened bench, the Huskies looked a little tired in the second period and were held scoreless as Proctor was able to score twice to make the game close.  Entering the final period of the season and up 4-3, the Huskies were determined to protect their winning record. Some excellent defensive plays by Ellie Baskins '27, Roberta Scott '27 and Zoe Edwards '29 prevented several scoring attempts by Proctor and Sarah Pollard '27 was strong in net making some key saves down the stretch. The game remained close until the 7 minute mark in the period when Paquette scored her second goal of the afternoon, quickly followed by a beautiful wrist shot from Edwards that sealed the Husky victory 6-3.  An amazing end to an amazing season with an amazing group of young women who gave it their all every day on the ice.  Congrats Huskies on finishing the year 9-0-1!!!
