Huskies Win in Playoff OT

The Huskies earned the #4 seed in the NEPSAC playoffs, playing host to #5 seed Newton Country Day School on Kennedy Field.

From the opening whistle, New Hampton put together a true team performance with players across the field having standout performances in the NEPSAC Quarterfinals. As usual, the backline for the Huskies held strong and counted on timely saves from Danika Virgin to keep the shutout alive. As the tightly contested game wore on, New Hampton's midfield rotation of Adriana Romano DiTella, Zuri Jimenez, Clara Thompson, and Katie Usilton commanded the middle of the field, allowing New Hampton's attack to continue pushing for the opening goal.

Ultimately, it would take overtime to separate the two teams after a hard fought 80 minutes from both sides. With just under three minutes remaining in the first golden goal overtime period, Fia Swormstedt would throw the ball in to Emma on the left side, who executed a one-time flick to an onrushing Audra Custance. Custance would then streak down the left hand side and play a well-timed cross to Casey Stores whose far post run led her to the game winning goal on the far post.

New Hampton now travels to Greens Farms Academy on Saturday for a NEPSAC Semi-Finals matchup.
