Huskies Fall to St. Paul's

On Wednesday afternoon, the Huskies traveled to St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH, for their first game back after a long weekend. Both teams looked flat and low on energy, and in the end, St. Paul’s edged a narrow 1–0 win.

Despite the result, New Hampton once again looked the stronger side for large stretches of the match. New Hampton showed quality through the back and midfield—connecting quick one- and two-touch sequences and working the ball around the back with patience. It was great to see Tomás earn his first start of the season at striker, adding fresh movement up top.

Captain and goalkeeper Trey was outstanding again, producing several big saves to keep the Huskies in it. Jackson, Mason, and Malcolm were steady defensively, but losing Sean (center back) to a head knock in the first half proved costly; St. Paul’s found the game’s only goal in the second half.

In midfield, Patrick dictated play with his usual authority, while Dani put in a tireless shift. On the wings, Captain Noah and Song drove the team forward with relentless running and work rate. Captain Griffin showed leadership and grit—playing through shin splints and continuing to push the attack. Luis came off the bench with real heart, even playing on after a crunching challenge that somehow went uncalled.

The Huskies will regroup and refocus, confident that sharper energy and finishing will flip tight games like this one their way.
