Huskies Fall to Bulls

On Saturday night, the Huskies capped off a full day of New Hampton vs. Holderness matchups with the main event on Kennedy Turf Field under the lights. With a huge crowd of students, faculty, and families cheering from the sidelines at our home field, the atmosphere was electric. Just a few weeks ago, New Hampton defeated Holderness 2–0 on the road—but this time, despite once again being the stronger side, the Huskies came away with a frustrating 1–0 loss.

Holderness brought a noticeably low-energy performance, but New Hampton struggled to find its usual spark after a demanding stretch. The team had returned from Boston the night before at 11 PM, following the Dexter Southfield match, and then sat through a full morning of Saturday classes. The fatigue showed, and the Huskies looked a step off their usual pace.

Sean showed grit and determination on defense, while Malcolm added composure and strength in the back line. Captain Griffin brought his trademark energy carrying a bruise on his face from the night before at Dexter Southfield, and fellow captain and goalkeeper Trey made several crucial saves to keep New Hampton in the match.

In the midfield, Patrick once again dictated play. Holderness remembered his dominance from the previous matchup and did everything possible to mark him tightly, but his creativity still shone through as he connected passes and drove the attack forward. Song was tireless on the wing, contributing with his usual defensive hustle and attacking runs. Dani took time to find his rhythm but eventually settled in to help push the offense forward. Off the bench, Luis contributed solid effort and energy, while Tomás made convincing offensive runs that nearly led to dangerous chances.

Despite the result, the Huskies displayed resilience and unity in the face of fatigue and adversity. With lessons learned and spirits high, the team looks ahead to bounce back stronger in the next match against Proctor.
