New Hampton School Loses to Proctor Academy

The New Hampton School Men’s JV B Basketball team hosted Proctor Academy at home on Wednesday afternoon, falling by a final score of 67–18.

New Hampton competed hard from the opening tip and showed strong defensive discipline throughout the game. The team committed just two fouls in the first half, both by Jerry and Ethan Jiang, while Proctor did not record a team foul before halftime. At the break, New Hampton trailed 29–10.

Offensively in the first half, Steven accounted for all ten points, scoring five strong two-point baskets. His consistent effort inside kept New Hampton battling despite Proctor’s scoring runs.

In the second half, the defensive effort intensified, even if the scoreboard did not fully reflect it. The team continued to hustle, defend, and move the ball on offense. Jerry added a three-point shot and went one for two from the free-throw line. Steven contributed two additional two-point baskets to close out the scoring.
Overall, it was a game marked by effort, improved second-half defense, and positive ball movement on offense. The coaches were encouraged by the team’s hustle and discipline, particularly the defensive intensity shown after halftime.
