The Huskies traveled to Andover, NH on Friday evening to compete against league foe, Proctor Academy.

New Hampton jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead and never looked back.  The game got close on 2 different occasions until the Huskies were able to break it open in the 6th inning scoring 5 runs in the frame.

Sophomore, Levi Fernandez took the hill for his 3rd start of the season.  The right-hander threw well all game and kept the Proctor hitters off balance early while improving his record to 3-0.   The Huskies defense did not help the starting pitcher very well as they committed 5 errors in the field and misplayed 3 other fly balls that were not recorded as errors, but allowed the Proctor offense to score runs and keep the game close.  Levi, once again pounded the strike zone all game throwing 74% strikes.  Levi threw 4.2 innings and gave up 9 runs (only 1 earned) on 6 hits, didn't walk any Proctor batters and struck out 5.  Carter Sahagian came in for relief was able to shut down the Proctor hitters.  Carter threw 2.1 innings giving up 1 earned run and struck out 5 Proctor batters.

Offensively, the Huskies were impressive all game, pounding the ball all over the field.  Freshman, Phil Groeling continues to impress as he went 4 for 5 on the day and drove in 2 runs.  George Kavanaugh and Jake Cabral had good days at the plate as well collecting 3 hits combined but were able to drive in 6 runs together.  Junior, Ollie Quong also continues to swing a hot bat collecting 3 more hits on the day for his league leading 15th hit in 8 games this season.  Ollie also drove in 2 runs on the day.  Senior captain, Griffin Taylor, went 1-1 on the day and continues to increase his on base percentage as he reached base 5 times and scored each time.

The Huskies look to keep the win streak going as they will host St. Paul's School on Wednesday, April 29th.  First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 pm.
