Huskies Open Nickerson Showcase with a Win over NMH

New Hampton pulled away in dominant fashion, outscoring Northfield Mount Hermon 21–4 in the fourth quarter to secure a 63–42 win in the opening game of the Nickerson Showcase at Noble & Greenough School.

The first half was tightly contested, with both teams trading momentum. NMH’s Olivia Fleming led all scorers with 16 points to keep the Hoggers within striking distance, but the Huskies carried a 29–25 lead into the break behind eight points apiece from Ava Perry and Serenity Lancaster. New Hampton briefly built a double-digit advantage in the third quarter thanks to timely three-pointers from Chloe Dix and Saige DeJesus, but NMH responded and cut the margin to five heading into the final eight minutes.

The fourth quarter belonged entirely to the Huskies. New Hampton elevated its energy on both ends of the floor, dominated the glass, and moved the ball with purpose, efficiently breaking the Hoggers’ half-court press and creating quality scoring opportunities.

DeJesus delivered a steady all-around performance, finishing with eight points, five rebounds, three assists, three steals, and just one turnover. Balanced contributions fueled the decisive run, as Perry recorded 14 points and six rebounds, Lancaster added 12 points and six boards, Elyse Ngenda chipped in 10 points and five rebounds, and Dix finished with nine points and four rebounds.

With the victory, New Hampton improves to 5–0 and will face Wilbraham & Monson Academy at 5:00 p.m. on December 20.
