The Huskies made the 15 minute trip north to take on Lakes Region rival Bulls. New Hampton struggled a little bit out the gate with energy and execution. We allowed Holderness to get where they wanted offensively and then on our own offensive end, we lacked the discipline to get what we wanted. After our first time out, we were able to right the ship. We were far more crisp offensively and started to turn up the ball pressure on defense, which led to a 15 point half time lead.
In the second half, we started strong forcing turnovers and easy looks at the rim, but then slipped back to allow Holderness to cut it back to a 15 point lead with 10 minutes to go. From that point on, the Huskies really executed well and started to assert themselves on both sides of the floor, resulting in a 28 point victory.
The Huskies had three double digit scorers: Jayden Harrington (17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists), James Sanderson (16 points, 6 steals, 5 rebounds, 2 assists) and Chad Cook (11 points,4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 block and 1 steal). Edison Onwe chipped in 9 off the bench.
