The Huskies traveled down to New Haven, Connecticut for their first of 2 matchups against top tier out of region teams.
New Hampton struggled to find a rhythm at all in the first half. We were lethargic offensively, and showed little discipline on the defensive side of the ball. We had 16 turnovers compared to 20 shot attempts in the first half, allowed 20 free throw attempts and showed little resistance in transition defensively. At half we found ourselves down 15.
In the second half, we took better care of the ball (only had 1 turnover) and shot 52% from the floor. We showed much better intensity and fight, but still struggled to keep IMG off the glass and put them on the line far too ofter. In the end, we lost the second half battle by 3, but were much more encouraged by the effort.
We were led in scoring by James Sanderson (17 points, 2 assists, 1 rebound), Chad Cook (15 points, 5 rebounds), Edison Onwe (10 points and 8 rebounds) and Wesley Waddles (10 points, 2 rebounds).
