The Huskies entered the matchup against a scrappy Milton team looking for their first win of the season. They came out strong, controlling possession from the opening draw and applying heavy pressure on the forecheck. That pressure created turnovers and quality scoring opportunities early on. Goalie Elizabeth “Eli” Vincent ’27 continued her momentum from the Nobles game, keeping Milton off the board for most of the period. Audra Custance ’28 opened the scoring, capitalizing on a rebound to give the Huskies a 1–0 lead. Moments later, senior captain Kelsey Baker ’26 doubled the advantage, finishing a beautiful setup from linemate and fellow captain Emma Macpherson ’27. Milton responded with a goal to cut the deficit, but the Huskies carried a 2–1 lead into the first intermission.
The second period proved challenging, as Milton tied the game and eventually pulled ahead 3–2. The Huskies answered with resilience, battling back to even the score on a composed finish from Lanah Quong ’28, her first Husky goal, and it came at a perfect moment. Eli continued to stand tall, turning aside Milton’s chances to keep the game knotted at 3–3.
The third period was once again the Huskies’ strongest. They played with urgency and regained the lead on a sharp snipe from junior captain Emma Macpherson ’27. The momentum surged from there, making the Huskies difficult to stop. Custance ’28 added a power-play insurance marker to make it 5–3 and secure the team’s first win of the year.
Several players earned their first Husky points in the victory, including Emilie Poirier ’29, Avery Lucier ’29, Merritt Fitch ’28, and Olivia Esposito ’29.
The Huskies hit the road for the first time this season on Wednesday, 12/10, as they travel to Governor’s Academy looking to build on this strong performance.
