Huskies Shutout in Season Opener

NEW HAMPTON, NH --

The Huskies opened their 2025–2026 season at home in an anticipated matchup against Nobles, aiming to begin their journey toward defending the Dorothy Howard Trophy for the fourth straight year. They came out strong against a veteran Nobles squad, with both teams trading possession and generating quality chances early on. Goalie Elizabeth “Eli” Vincent ’27 was outstanding from the start, turning away steady pressure to keep the game scoreless through the first period.

Nobles came out fast in the second and stunned the Huskies, eventually building a 3–0 lead. Despite the deficit, Eli continued to be a backbone in net, making key saves to keep the Huskies within reach. Offensively, the group struggled to find sustained opportunities but generated a few promising chances late in the period.

The third period was the Huskies’ strongest of the night, as they controlled more of the play and created several solid scoring looks, though they couldn’t find the back of the net. Eli remained the team’s standout performer, keeping Nobles at bay and giving her team every chance to climb back into the game.

Nobles ultimately took the season opener 3–0, but there were plenty of positives for the Huskies, especially the impressive efforts from many of the younger first-year players. The group showed resilience, compete, and signs of the exponential growth to come.

The Huskies return home on Saturday, 12/6, to take on Milton as they look for their first win of the season.
