Explore Possibilities in Digital Media

Digital Arts, though part of the visual arts, contains a broad range of media to explore. From graphic design to animation, the learning experience in these mediums is met with industry-level technology and software.

Graphic Design

New Hampton School's facilities contain the latest computer technology and worldwide standard design software, Adobe Creative Suite, which includes Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and more. Students learn the basic elements of two-dimensional design through both computer and more traditional media, including sketchbook work with pencils and paint. Graphic Design I and II approach the medium of digital technology as a form of human expression.

Animation with the Walt Disney Family Museum

New Hampton School offers an Animation course in partnership with the Walt Disney Family Museum, combining virtual and on-campus instruction. The program sparks creativity and honors Walt Disney’s legacy, giving students a unique opportunity to explore animation while learning from a world-class institution.

Film Studies and Media Production

Various film and production classes at New Hampton School teach students to understand, appreciate, and create compelling movies and live television.

Students will learn the stages of production, project management skills and gain additional skills in creative writing and public speaking.  Our classes in film production enable students to use professional level digital equipment and software, as well as gain experience in live television production.  Students walk away with not only technical skills but an appreciation of how video and film are changing the media landscape.
