September Male: Matt Dean '14

A member of the Varsity Football team, Matt was nominated by the entire football coaching staff for his consistency of play on both sides of the ball and his outstanding leadership on and off the field. This young man was voted a captain by his teammates for his positive attitude and incredible work ethic. A two-way player, Matt rarely comes off the football field. He had 110 yards rushing on eight carries in the first half of a season-opening victory over Kent’s Hill. A week later, he led the defense against Proctor Academy with 12 tackles, including three for losses, and a blocked punt. Matt is the team's quarterback on defense. The team relies upon him to get them aligned properly and to relay all the calls from coaches. In practice, he is a tireless worker, another coach on the field, and a tremendous role model for his younger teammates.
