History Students Experience New Hampshire Primary
On Saturday January 7, students in Mr. Fisk's Civics class visited Manchester, NH to see the sights and sounds of the New Hampshire Primary. Mr. Fisk's A Block Civics class is comprised of students from four different countries, so for all of them this was their first taste of New Hampshire's traditional First in the Nation Primary.

Students began the visit by going to the Radison Hotel and Convention Center where they got a behind-the-scenes look ay NBC's election center coverage. Next, students saw where the Associated Press was set-up as well as CBS News. Across the street students visited with members of the Occupy the NH Primary Movement where they were able to see protests and demonstrations in action. Lastly, students visited the campaign headquarters of former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich where they met and spoke with one of the campaign organizers.

Upon their return to school students wrote a reflection of their experience and continued to discuss how elections and politics function in the United States. It was a good experience for everyone.
