An Overtime Loss to Governors Academy

The Huskies took the ice strong against Governors.  Elizabeth Aveson and Jennifer Currie both had an opportunity to score in the first period but couldn't connect.  Erin Moran played in net and made some key saves, including a breakaway.  For the second period, New Hampton was hungry for a goal as they tried to get more shots off.  Abby Rutt carried the puck from one end to other a few times and got shots off.  There were a few penalties that got killed and a power play that showed some potential.  Unfortunately, Governors got the first goal of the game with only 3 minutes left in the period.  However, the Huskies responded in the third period.  Gabby Vautour assisted Jenny Currie who scored a top shelf goal to tie the game.  The game got sent into overtime.  It was a very exciting period.  A mishap in the defensive zone allowed Governors to score with 20 seconds left o take the win.
