Katie Solman ’12 Awarded September IB Student of the Month
Will McCulloch
Now in its second year, the International Baccalaureate program has brought a wonderful energy to New Hampton School classrooms. Each month, IB teachers recognize a student in the program that embody one of the characteristics in the IB Learner Profile. This month the word is principled.
Principled: They act with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice, and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities. They take responsibility for their own actions and the consequences that accompany them
New Hampton School proudly recognizes Katie Solman ’11 for being principled. Katie easily fits all of these characteristics. In and out of the classroom, she presents herself as an honest and respectful young adult. Katie is also recognized for encouraging others to be principled as well.
