Missing Riders Slow Husky Mountain Bikers at Kennett
Justin Freeman
Injuries, mechanical problems and other factors reduced the New Hampton mountain bike team to only two riders for the race at Kennett High School. Since the top five riders on a team score, this left the Huskies unable to compete with most schools, and they finished 11th in a field of 12 teams, three points behind arch-rivals Tilton. Rodrigo had an excellent day, finishing 6th in the C race, and Bobby Drew also finished strong on the very challenging course. The A race was won by Sean Douherty (racing on his home course) but Proctor won the team competition and they now lead Kennett in the overall season standings 513 to 485. New Hampton fell to 7th in the overall standings, one point ahead of the Tilton Rams.
