Arsenault To Speak at National Basketball Coaching Clinic

Jamie Arsenault, New Hampton School’s Varsity A Basketball Coach, will be a guest speaker at the 2006 Comcast Basketball Coaching Clinic on October 6 and 7 in Denver, Colorado. Presented by the Sports Authority & Gold Crown Foundation, the two-day national clinic will also feature such coaching legends as former NBA and current Memphis State Head Coach John Calipari and NCAA winning coach Jerry Tarkanian.
Arsenault was invited by Bill Hanzlik, former NBA player and president of the Gold Crown Foundation. Arsenault will speak about the success and tradition of the New Hampton School Basketball program. He will also be presenting competitive drills that are used to improve the skills of the New Hampton School players.
In his tenth season as Head Basketball Coach, Arsenault has led the Huskies to a 180-85 record over the last nine seasons in the New England Class A Prep School League. Coach Arsenault’s standouts include Darius Songaila (Washington Wizards), Bernard Robinson (Charlotte Bobcats), and Rashad McCants (Minnesota Timberwolves). Other alumni making their mark in major college basketball programs are Wes Miller (North Carolina), Tom Coverdale (Indiana), and Brady Morningstar (Kansas).
A graduate of Colby College and Trinity College, Jamie Arsenault coached at Colby, Trinity College, at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and at Bridgton Academy in Maine, before joining the faculty of New Hampton School in 1997. A math teacher and dorm parent, he also serves as New Hampton School Director of Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities.
Jamie, his wife Lara, son Ryder, and daughter Dempsey live on campus in Lindsay Residence.
