Huskies overpower Austin Prep 16-5

New Hampton Women's Lacrosse started a busy week off strong with a 16–5 win over Austin Prep, showcasing a balanced and unselfish offensive effort. 

Ten different players found the back of the net, with 12 of the team’s 16 goals assisted—highlighting the group’s chemistry and willingness to share the ball. 

Tova Yerardi ’26 led the way with an outstanding performance, finishing with 4 goals and 5 assists while surpassing the milestone of 100 career assists. Ireland Stark ’26 made an immediate impact in her first game back, tallying 6 points on 3 goals and 3 assists. Fia Swormstedt ’27 added 3 goals and 2 assists, continuing her strong offensive presence. 

Additional goals came from Brooke King ’27, Madi Hannon ’26, Audra Custance ’28, Ella Zeman ’29, Cara Kuczek ’26, and Kaya Farnsworth ’26, each contributing to the team’s depth on offense. 
At the draw, Kaya controlled possession with 9 draw controls, while Fia added 2 and Audra stepped up mid-game to secure 2 more. 

Defensively, the group remained solid and cohesive, holding Austin Prep scoreless in the second quarter. The unit totaled 10 caused turnovers and 14 ground balls, with Fia and Fionna McNamara’26 each recording 2 caused turnovers to lead the effort. 

The team now turns its focus to a big week ahead. New Hampton Women's Lacrosse will take on Holderness in a Lake Region matchup for Senior Night, followed by a Friday night game under the lights against Saint Paul’s. As the season enters its final stretch, the coaching staff is proud of the team’s progression and looks forward to two competitive games ahead.
