Huskies shut out the Hornets on the road

New Hampton was back on the road, this time for a Lakes Region matchup against Proctor Academy. After a hard-fought battle the previous week, the Huskies turned the page and came in focused on the competition ahead.

Momentum started early once again at the draw, with Kaya Farnsworth ’26 dominating possession by collecting 11 of 12 draw controls for New Hampton. Over the past few games, Farnsworth has played a crucial role in controlling possession and initiating the attack, either pushing the ball forward herself or distributing effectively to teammates.

Offensively, the Huskies showcased a balanced effort with eight different goal scorers. Fia Swormstedt ’27 and Tova Yerardi ’26 each recorded hat tricks, while Ella Zeman ’29 continued to build momentum with two goals. Additional goals came from Brooke King ’27, Madi Hannon ’26, Cara Kuczek ’26, and Kaya Farnsworth ’26. Audra Custance ’28 stepped into a new midfield role in the second half and netted her first goal.

Ball movement was a key factor, with 10 of New Hampton’s 13 goals being assisted. Yerardi led the team with four assists, followed by Swormstedt with three. Zeman, Farnsworth, and Kuczek each contributed one assist.

The attacking unit worked cohesively, demonstrating patience and discipline while creating scoring opportunities. Defensively, the Huskies maintained strong pressure, consistently disrupting Proctor’s transition game. Kristen Vinagro ’28 Swormstedt, and Custance each recorded two caused turnovers as part of a total of nine forced turnovers by the defensive unit. Tricia Carr ’27 led the team with four ground balls, generating multiple second-chance opportunities, while Custance added three, helping to clean up on the defensive end.

New Hampton completed the performance with a dominant 13–0 shutout, holding Proctor scoreless. It was a true team win from start to finish, with a complete effort on both ends of the field.
