Huskies build momentum with 16-4 win over Cushing Academy

New Hampton Lacrosse defended Kennedy Field in dominant fashion, taking down a traveling Cushing Academy squad 16–4. 

Fia Swormstedt ’27 led the charge with 5 goals, while Madi Hannon ’26 added a season-high 4. Tova Yerardi ’26 found the back of the net three times, and Emma MacPherson ’27 chipped in 2. Ann Perfield ’29 and Emilie Poirier ’29 each notched their first Husky goals. 

The offense was clicking, assisting on 13 of 16 goals. Brooke King ’27 and Tova Yerardi ’26 led the way with 3 assists apiece. Cara Kuczek ’26 and Fia Swormstedt ’27 each added 2, while Tricia Carr ’27 and Kaya Farnsworth ’26 contributed one each. 

Kaya Farnsworth ’26 also dominated the draw circle with a season-high 15 draw controls, helping keep possession in New Hampton’s favor. 
Defensively, the Huskies were relentless, totaling 26 ground balls. Tova Yerardi ’26 led with 6, while Fia Swormstedt ’27 added 4 ground balls and 4 caused turnovers. Madi Hannon ’26, Emilie Poirier ’29, Emma MacPherson ’27, and Abby Poole each picked up 2 ground balls. 

In cage, Abby Poole recorded 7 saves and anchored another complete third-quarter shutout. 

This group continues to improve each day, building strong connections and momentum as they push toward their peak at the midpoint of the season—exactly where the coaches want them to be.
