Huskies improve to 2-1 in Lakes Region play, with win over Brewster

Another strong showing at home as New Hampton Lacrosse honored Morgan Rodgers during their Morgan’s Message dedication game.
The Huskies defended the Den with a commanding 15–3 win over Brewster Academy. Six different players found the back of the net, with fourteen of those goals coming off assists—showcasing a balanced and connected offense.
Fia Swormstedt ’27 led the way with 6 goals and 2 assists, while Tova Yerardi ’26 added 3 goals and 3 assists. Tricia Carr ’27 contributed 2 goals and 2 assists, and Cara Kuczek ’26 had a standout day with 2 goals and a season-high 4 assists. Madi Hannon ’26, Kaya Farnsworth ’26, and Emma MacPherson ’26 each added a goal.
Defensively, Kristen Vinagro ’28 and Audra Custance ’28 set the tone with 3 caused turnovers each. Vinagro also picked up 3 ground balls, while Custance added 2, as the unit held Brewster to just 14 shots on cage.
In goal, Abby Poole ’27 had a season-high 11 saves, added 3 ground balls, and secured another shutout quarter in the fourth. Katie Usilton ’26 also made an impact in transition with 2 ground balls and a caused turnover to keep momentum in the Huskies’ favor.
New Hampton hits the road next, traveling to Pingree for a 4:30 PM matchup on Friday, 4/17.
