NHS falls to Holderness

The New Hampton School Men’s JV B Basketball team traveled to Holderness on Saturday afternoon and fell by a final score of 59–18.

Holderness built an early lead, and New Hampton trailed 30–12 at halftime. Despite the score, there were several strong individual efforts in the opening half. Levi knocked down a three-point shot and added a two-point basket, while Jerry connected on a three-pointer. Steven contributed a two-point shot, and Ethan Pollack scored a two-point basket — his first basket of the season, which was a special moment for the team. The bench and players alike were thrilled for Ethan, making it the clear highlight of the afternoon.
New Hampton committed three team fouls in the first half, while Holderness had one.

In the second half, Levi added another three-pointer to lead the scoring. Steven went two-for-two from the free-throw line, and Cubby battled at the line as well, converting one of four free-throw attempts. Defensively, New Hampton showed discipline, committing just one team foul in the second half, while Holderness recorded four. Although the final score favored Holderness, the coaching staff was proud of the team’s heart and resilience. The boys continued to compete, defend, and support one another even when points were hard to come by. Their effort, perseverance, and excitement for Ethan Pollack’s first basket of the season reflected the character and unity of the group.
