New Hampton was looking to bounce back after a tough 0-2 weekend against AAA opponents. We wrapped up our Lakes Region portion of the schedule with a big win over Proctor Academy.
There was an intensity on the defensive side of the ball at the beginning. Our full court pressure and our pressure on the offensive glass really caused problems for Proctor. We were able to steal multiple possessions and create easy scoring opportunities for us. We then took our foot off the gas and allowed Proctor to get into a flow offensively.
In the second half, we were able to break Proctor down off the dribble, create easy looks at the rim, and keep up the pressure on the offensive glass. Everyone scored, and we were able to score over 115 points!
The Huskies had six in double digits: Stetson Merritt (27 points, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 rebound), Edison Onwe (22 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists), Chad Cook (15 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), James Sanderson (15 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 steal), Griffin Sward (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal), and Brandyn Clarke (11 points and 7 rebounds).
