Huskies Punch Championship Ticket with a 68-63 OT Win Over Tilton

The Huskies made the short trip to Tilton today to battle the Rams in a NEPSAC AAA Semi-Final showdown. It marked the third meeting of the season between the two teams, with Tilton holding a 2–0 advantage coming in.

As expected, the matchup delivered a thriller. The game swung back and forth for four quarters, with neither team able to build a lead larger than six points.

With seconds remaining and the Huskies up by 2, Tilton's Bella Cucuta finished a putback to tie the game. New Hampton quickly called timeout and advanced the ball with just 1.9 seconds left on the clock. Out of the timeout, Coach Bavaro drew up a play that put the ball in Serenity Lancaster’s hands. Lancaster got a clean look at the basket, but the shot rimmed out as the buzzer sounded, sending the game to overtime.

In the extra period, the Huskies seized control. Chloe Dix, Elyse Ngenda, and Serenity Lancaster led the charge, combining to outscore the Rams and secure a hard-fought 68–63 victory — punching New Hampton’s ticket to the NEPSAC AAA Championship Game.

Dix led all scorers with a dominant double-double, finishing with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Ngenda added 20 points, while Lancaster contributed 12.

New Hampton will face second-seeded Hoosac School tomorrow at Nobles. Tip-off is set for 2:45 PM. Let's go, Huskies!
