Senior Day Success, New Hampton Downs Worcester, 61-51
New Hampton honored their four seniors before tip-off against Worcester Academy, celebrating an exceptional group that has been instrumental to the Huskies' success over the years. Elyse Ngenda (Stanford University), Serenity Lancaster (St. John’s), Chloe Dix (Columbia University), and Kailey Sullivan (Trinity College) will all take their talents to the next level.
New Hampton outscored Worcester Academy in three of four quarters and built an 18-point lead in the third. Worcester battled back with determination, trimming the margin to 10, but that was as close as they would get before the final buzzer. New Hampton secured a 61-51 victory in their regular-season finale.
The seniors led the way, filling the stat sheet. Ngenda led all scorers with 22 points, while adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Lancaster contributed 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Dix added 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, and Sullivan chipped in with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and an assist.
New Hampton improves to 16-6 and now awaits their NEPSAC AAA Tournament seeding. Go Huskies!
