After an 11-day break, the Huskies showed some early rust in their Lakes Region matchup at Brewster Academy
, but eventually found their rhythm on the road.
New Hampton led 14–9 after the first quarter, sparked by an early four-point burst from Kailey Sullivan off the bench that energized the group.
Ava Perry and Elyse Ngenda each knocked down three-pointers in the second quarter, helping the Huskies push their lead to nine at the half.
Using halftime for a team reset, New Hampton came out with greater purpose in the third, outscoring the Bobcats 12–2 in the opening four minutes. By the end of the quarter, the Huskies had stretched the lead to 49–27 and were firmly in control. Serenity Lancaster and Chloe Dix took the offensive reins and dominated the defensive boards. Casey Stores, Sullivan, and Perry did an excellent job pushing the pace and finding open teammates in transition.
Credit to Brewster’s Lindsay Goetz, who battled throughout and finished with a game-high 14 points. The final score was 65–39.
Three Huskies finished in double figures: Sullivan (13), Lancaster (12), and Ngenda (11). The team totaled an impressive 21 assists, led by Stores and Perry. Lancaster, Dix, Saige DeJesus, and Shannon O’Leary controlled the glass and anchored a strong rebounding effort.
In a historic moment, Serenity Lancaster and Kailey Sullivan each surpassed the 2,000-point mark for their careers—an extraordinary milestone and a testament to their dedication and consistency.
With the win, New Hampton improves to 15–5 and will close out the regular season with two home games this weekend.
