Huskies Cruise Past Brewster

MOULTONBORO, NH --

The Huskies delivered a statement performance in Lakes Region play with a commanding 8–2 victory over Brewster Academy, overwhelming their opponent from the opening puck drop and never looking back. Right from the start, the Huskies set the tone, pushing the pace and putting Brewster on their heels. Crisp puck movement, relentless forechecking, and strong play in all three zones fueled an explosive first period. The Huskies erupted for five goals in the opening frame, cruising to a 5–1 lead and showcasing their dominance early. The momentum carried seamlessly into the second period. The Huskies continued to control possession and dictate play, adding two more goals to extend their advantage. While penalty trouble gave Brewster a few opportunities to generate offense, Husky goaltender Cara Kuczek ’26 stood tall between the pipes. Tested during multiple penalty kills, Kuczek calmly turned aside quality chances, backed by a disciplined and aggressive Husky penalty kill unit that limited second opportunities. In the third, the Huskies maintained their structure and intensity, tacking on one more goal to cap off the afternoon offensively. Brewster managed to convert on a power-play opportunity after capitalizing on a loose puck in front, but it was little more than a brief interruption in an otherwise dominant performance. Senior Lilly Thomas ’26 was the undeniable star of the game, recording a hat trick that ignited the Huskies’ offensive surge. Her finishing touch and leadership powered the team to eight total goals and set the tone for the attack throughout the night. With strong play in all three zones, steady goaltending, and explosive scoring, the Huskies cruised back into the win column with an emphatic 8–2 Lakes Region victory
