New Hampton was looking to bounce back after a tough 0-2 week in the NEBL final. We hosted St. Paul's for a Lakes Region tilt, which was a close one throughout.
The Huskies were hot from the jump, putting a lot of offensive pressure on the Pelicans defense from 3. 5 minutes into the game, we were up 16-2. That was the largest lead we had until the final 5 minutes of the game. St. Paul's was incredibly feisty, forcing turnovers, making 3's and making shots in the paint. We were able to get a hold of them late to put them away 91-74.
The Huskies had five in double digits: Stetson Merritt (23 points, 3 rebounds,1 ast), Jayden Harrington (17 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal), Chad Cook (12 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal), James Sanderson (12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals), Edison Onwe (11 points, 3 rebounds).
