New Hampton Falls Short to A Strong Brewster Team

The New Hampton School Men’s JV B Basketball team hosted Brewster Academy on Wednesday afternoon and fell by a final score of 64–19.

New Hampton opened the game with confidence, as Levi knocked down a three-pointer for the first points of the contest. Steven added two points in the first half, but Brewster’s consistent pressure and transition scoring allowed them to build a 27–5 lead by halftime. Despite the score, New Hampton remained disciplined defensively, committing four team fouls in the first half, while Brewster finished with three.

In the second half, New Hampton continued to compete and play with energy. Levi added three points, Jerry scored on two baskets and made one free throw while missing three, Marek contributed a two-point basket and converted two free throws, and Ethan added two points. Defensively, New Hampton stayed under control once again, committing just three team fouls in the second half, matching Brewster’s three.

Although the final score favored Brewster Academy, the effort from New Hampton remained strong. The team ran the floor, played defense, and battled on the boards throughout the game. Moving forward, the focus will be on improving offensive execution by moving the ball more effectively to find open shooters, rather than settling for contested or long-range shots early in possessions. The coaches appreciated the continued effort and work ethic shown by the players despite a challenging matchup.
