Drake and MacPherson's Hat Tricks Propels Huskies Past VA
NEW HAMPTON, NH --
The Huskies continued their dominant stretch with a 10–0 victory over Vermont Academy, remaining undefeated in Lakes Region play. It was a physical, hard-fought game, but the Huskies rose to the challenge, matching Vermont Academy’s intensity and responding with relentless effort and pace. The win marked the third straight game in which the Huskies sustained consistent effort across all three periods. Goaltender Cara Kuczek ’26 kept Vermont Academy off the board, as she was tested early in the game and responded with poise and confidence. Kuczek remained perfect through two periods, setting the tone defensively for the Huskies. Sophomore goaltender Mallory Graziano ’28 made her Husky debut in net for the third period, turning away all of Vermont Academy’s shots and scoring chances. Graziano stood tall through back-to-back Vermont Academy power plays, handling the pressure and preserving the shutout. Both goaltenders remained perfect, keeping Vermont Academy off the scoreboard for the entirety of the game. Offensively, the Huskies were led by Kiara Drake ’27, who recorded her first career Husky hat trick. Junior captain Emma MacPherson ’27 continued her hot streak, netting her second career hat trick in her second consecutive game. Lana Quong ’28 added two goals, while Merritt Fitch ’28 also found the back of the net. The Huskies now return home for a highly anticipated NEPSAC Championship Game rematch against St. Mark’s, where they will look to carry their offensive momentum forward and earn a crucial NEPSAC win as they push for playoff positioning.
