New Hampton School falls to KUA on the road

The New Hampton School Men's JV B Basketball team traveled to Kimball Union Academy on a cold Saturday afternoon, falling to the hosts by a final score of 44–10.

KUA established control early with strong defensive pressure and physical play. New Hampton struggled to generate offense in the first half, scoring just two points, both from Steven, while Kimball Union built a 26–2 halftime lead. Despite the challenge, New Hampton remained disciplined defensively, committing only three team fouls in the opening half. KUA also recorded three team fouls in the first half.

In the second half, New Hampton showed improved effort and movement, adding eight more points. Jerry led the second-half scoring with three points, Steven added two more, and Gabe chipped in two points. The team again stayed composed defensively, committing three team fouls in the second half. Kimball Union, meanwhile, increased its physicality, finishing the half with nine team fouls.

Overall, the difference in the game once again came down to intensity. Kimball Union consistently played with greater urgency, particularly on the defensive end. Their pressure defense immediately after half court disrupted New Hampton’s offensive rhythm, and their relentless rebounding created extra possessions. The game served as another important reminder of how effort, physicality, and intensity can strongly influence the outcome, regardless of the score.
