Huskies Drop Road Game

 

The Huskies made the trip down to Springfield, Mass in snow conditions this past Saturday to play in the annual Hoophall Prep Classic. We took on an out of region opponent, Link Year Postgrad team.

 

We struggled to make layups and free throws in the first half, shooting a frigid 35.7% FG/ 0% from 3/ 46.2% from the free throw line. We were able to get stops though and kept it a low scoring contest at the half 26-26.

 

In the second half, it was more of the same. Link year went on a strong8-0 run in the middle of the half to put them up 11. We were able to claw back to a 1 possession game late, but did not have enough offensive juice and fell by 4.

 

New Hampton had 3 people score double digit points: Edison Onwe (12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals), Stetson Merritt (12 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assists), and Wesley Waddles (11 points, 9 rebounds).
