Huskies Win

New Hampton made their home debut in 2026 with a competitive matchup vs. Lee Academy who made the long trek to Husky Nation.

 

From the jump, New Hampton found themselves in a groove offensively, creating open jump shots for themselves and putting pressure on the offensive glass. The Huskies jumped out to a 24-11 lead. Lee Academy had a run off their own, even taking the lead with 5 minutes left in the half. New Hampton had a counter though, closing out the half on a 14-7 run of their own.

 

New Hampton got hot again out of the gate, jumping Lee with a 22-6 run of their own. Everyone contributed to the run with their defensive intensity, selflessness offensively, and creating great opportunities to one another. Lee went on another mini run late, but it was not enough as New Hampton came out on top 80-62.

 

The Huskies had for in double digits: Wesley Waddles (21 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 2 steals), Stetson Merritt (15 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, 1 strea) Chad Cook (13 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals), and Jayden Harrington (11 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists). Everyone on the roster scored and provided great balance to the Husky offense!
