New Hampton had a very slow start in the first half, struggling to find an offensive rhythm. The team scored just two points in the opening half, both coming from Jerry, while Proctor took advantage of the slow start and built a 40–2 lead at halftime. Despite the score, New Hampton played with discipline defensively, committing only three team fouls in the first half.
The second half told a much different story. New Hampton came out with renewed energy and confidence, matching Proctor’s intensity and competing on both ends of the floor. The team scored 25 points in the second half, nearly matching Proctor’s 27 points over the final two quarters.
Levi led the offensive surge, knocking down three three-point shots and adding two baskets from inside. Jerry continued his strong shooting with two three-pointers in the second half, while Steven and Jasper each contributed a three-point basket of their own. Defensively, New Hampton stayed composed and physical, committing just one team foul in the entire second half.
Steven put in a strong all-around effort, working hard throughout the game despite picking up three personal fouls. Marek, who started the game with the opening jump ball, used his size effectively to battle for rebounds under the basket and finished with one foul.
While the final score favored Proctor, the game was a positive experience for both teams. There was excellent camaraderie and sportsmanship throughout, with players from both sides applauding made three-point shots and sharing laughs when lighthearted moments occurred on the court. It was refreshing to see such mutual respect and enjoyment of the game, and it truly felt that sportsmanship and teamwork were the focus rather than the final result.
