Tabor Pulls Away Early, Holds Off Huskies, 65-51

The Huskies faced a tough test on Saturday, matching up with a strong Tabor Academy squad on the road. Offense was tough to come by early, but baskets from Serenity Lancaster and Ava Perry gave New Hampton a narrow 6–4 advantage midway through the first quarter. Momentum shifted in the second quarter as the Seawolves found their rhythm and surged into the halftime break with a 16-point lead.

The teams traded baskets throughout an evenly played second half, each scoring 31 points. Abby Schrader anchored the defensive effort for New Hampton, but the first-half deficit proved too much for the Huskies to overcome.

Kailey Sullivan knocked down three 3-pointers on six attempts, while Lancaster used her size and strength in the paint to draw fouls and finish with a team-high 16 points and 12 rebounds. Elyse Ngenda contributed 8 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists while Chloe Dix added 5 points and 7 boards. Saige DeJesus and Ava Perry combined for 9 rebounds helping the Huskies win the battle on the glass.

New Hampton continues its road stretch on Wednesday, traveling to Tilton for an important AAA/Lakes Region League matchup.
