Huskies Effort Not Enough Against BB&N

NEW HAMPTON, NH --

The Huskies returned home for a crucial NEPSAC matchup against a strong and physical BB&N squad, coming out with energy and pace from the opening puck drop. The Huskies generated numerous offensive chances early, applying consistent pressure and creating quality looks, but were unable to find the finishing touch. A failed breakout led to a defensive zone breakdown midway through the first period, allowing BB&N to capitalize and take a 1–0 lead. Despite continuing to push back, the Huskies couldn’t convert, finishing the period outshooting BB&N 13–6 with nothing to show on the scoreboard. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent ’27 was steady between the pipes, keeping the deficit to one. The second period mirrored the first in effort but not results. While the Huskies controlled possession for stretches, they struggled to generate meaningful chances. BB&N added to their lead to make it 2–0, but the Huskies continued to battle, searching for momentum and a way back into the game. The Huskies came out firing in the third, showing urgency and determination, but an early BB&N goal briefly took the wind out of their sails as they faced a 3–0 deficit. Refusing to fold, the Huskies pressed offensively, looking to capitalize on any opportunity they could create. Unfortunately, luck remained elusive, as another defensive zone mishandle led to an easy goal for BB&N, sealing the outcome. The Huskies will look to regroup and return to the win column on Saturday when they head on the road to Tabor for another key NEPSAC matchup.
