The Huskies opened their 2026 home slate in dominant fashion with a 4–0 shutout win over Middlesex School. From the opening puck drop, the girls came ready to play, controlling possession throughout the first period and consistently putting Middlesex under pressure in their defensive zone. The sustained offensive push paid off when junior Kiara Drake ’27 opened the scoring with her second goal of the season. Soon after, Audra Custance ’28 added to the Huskies’ lead, sending the team into the first intermission up 2–0. The second period mirrored the first, with the Huskies continuing to dictate the pace of play and generate quality scoring chances. On the power play, senior captain Addy Peel ’26 showcased her skill by taking a skate and finishing with a beautiful backhand goal to give the Huskies a commanding 3–0 lead heading into the third. The Huskies maintained control in the final frame, keeping the puck in the offensive zone and limiting Middlesex’s opportunities. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent ’27 was rock solid, turning aside every shot she faced to secure the shutout. The highlight of the period came when Riley McKenna ’29 capitalized on a penalty-kill opportunity, turning it into a breakaway and sniping a bar-down finish for her first Husky goal, sealing the 4–0 victory. All four offensive lines contributed to the team’s success, making it a complete and impressive team win. The Huskies will look to carry this momentum into their next NEPSAC matchup against BB&N on January 14 at 4:30 p.m. at the Jake.
