Huskies Shutout at Groton

GROTON, MA --

The Huskies kicked off the second semester with a road trip to Groton, MA for a NEPSAC matchup. Both teams started strong, trading early chances, but a fortunate bounce off a Huskies power-play miscue allowed Groton to capitalize and take an early 1–0 lead. The first period remained back and forth, with both teams generating quality opportunities, but neither side was able to add to the score. Goaltender Elizabeth Vincent ’27 was sharp throughout the period, keeping the Huskies within one and giving them a chance to respond. Groton extended their lead in the second period, making the Huskies’ comeback effort more challenging. Much like the first, the second period featured strong play at both ends, but the score remained unchanged otherwise. The Huskies came alive in the third, aggressively hunting pucks in the offensive zone and forcing turnovers, but despite sustained pressure, they were unable to find the back of the net and were held off the scoreboard. The final score was 2–0. The Huskies return home on Saturday, 1/10, to face Middlesex, with a 2:45 p.m. puck drop.
