Huskies move to 2-1 in AAA

The Huskies struggled early on finding themselves in an early hole. We struggled to sprint back in transition, settled for poor shots and had a lot of sloppy offensive possessions ending in turnovers. When Trey Jones, Edison Onwe and Ben Safran entered the game, there was an injection of energy and the Huskies were able to close the gap quickly. Wesley Waddles made some tough shots and our mixing up of defenses really bothered Newman. We found ourselves down 4 at halftime.

In the second half, the Huskies were able to go on a 9-0 run to take a lead by the midway point. Ben Safran had a career high 9 points and helped push the Huskies back in front. With about 9 minutes to go, New Hampton had a 9 points lead and felt like they were in the driver seat. Jayden Harrington showed high level shot making during this run and was leading the Huskies in scoring. Newman preceded to go on a run of their own, tying the game with 7 minutes to go. New Hampton struggled to make shots at the end, and Newman was able to pull away with a 7 point victory over the Huskies.

The Huskies had two double digit scorers: Jayden Harrington (17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks), and James Sanderson (14 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and a steal). Ben Safran, Chad Cook and Wesley Waddles all chipped in 9.
