Huskies Draw Against the Hornets in a Thriller Under the Lights
Under the bright lights of Proctor’s turf field on Friday night, the Huskies took on the Hornets in front of a packed crowd for Proctor Day. The atmosphere was electric—Proctor’s fan section was massive, and New Hampton brought several fan buses of our own, creating a lively, spirited environment from start to finish.
The match was a hard-fought battle that ended in a 0–0 draw. Both sides created dangerous chances, but the goalkeepers were outstanding. Captain Trey anchored the Huskies from the back with several key saves and excellent command of his box. The game was physical, with heavy tackles exchanged throughout, but New Hampton stayed composed and disciplined.
Defensively, the Huskies were calm and confident on the ball, building play patiently out of the back. Jackson turned in his best performance of the season at right back, reading the game brilliantly and contributing to the team’s steady possession. After the opening 10–15 minutes, New Hampton settled into their rhythm, moving the ball quickly and cleanly with one- and two-touch passing. The midfield worked tirelessly—tracking back defensively and springing forward on the counter—embodying the team’s grit and collective spirit.
As the final whistle blew, frustration was clear on the faces of Proctor’s players and fans, who had hoped to secure a win on their home turf. The Huskies, meanwhile, walked away proud of a disciplined and united performance under the lights—an excellent display of composure and resilience on a big stage.
