Huskies Win at KUA
New Hampton hit the road on Saturday afternoon for a Lakes Region League matchup with Kimball Union Academy. A shorthanded New Hampton side were able to work hard with many players in new positions and new roles.
In the first half, Casey Stores played a through ball to Emma Labrie who finished past the Kimball Union keeper to open the scoring at 1-0. The Huskies would double the lead after Merritt Fitch pressured the KUA backline into a turnover that Katie Usilton picked up and played a through ball to Casey Stores who would then run the line before firing a deflected shot on goal that Audra Custance would beat her defender to in order to double the score.
New Hampton would earn the shutout with strong defensive play from a defensive line bolstered by the play of Avery Lucier and Kristen Vinagro who stepped up big for the Huskies.
