Huskies Win on the Road
New Hampton picked up an opening day win on the road against Class B Cushing Academy.
The Huskies came out strong in the first half, applying pressure on the Cushing backline which ultimately led to the opening goal after Brielle Lee '27 forced the Cushing defender into a turnover that Emma Labrie '27 picked off before burying in the back of the net for the opening goal.
New Hampton would continue the scoring with Audra Custance '28 receiving a through ball from Merritt Fitch '28 out of the midfield that she would carry through the Cushing defense before cutting inside for a goal from outside the 18 yard box.
Danika Virgin '26 would keep a shutout with four saves behind an organized effort from the New Hampton backline of Fia Swormstedt '27, Heidi Smith '26, Addyson Peel '26, and Gianna Young '27.
New Hampton is back in action on Wednesday for their home opener against Vermont Academy.
