New Hampton Beats Tabor Academy
After 32 minutes of action packed basketball, New Hampton was able to maintain their composure to be victorious. The fast pace game saw both teams gain double digit leads against their opponents and saw six lead changes.
The Huskies got off to a slow start against Tabor's pressure, but finished the first half in an inside out rhythm with forward Kaitlyn Petrocelli '17 leading the charge of scoring from inside the paint. On two back-to-back three's from Ronja Orpo '18, the Huskies were able to take the lead going into the half. Senior Becca Ripley cleaned up the boards ending the half 10 defensive rebounds.
The second half proved to be a much more physical competition, and the Huskies saw Tabor close the lead they had built prior to halftime. Back-to-back three's by Amelia Clairmont '19 gave the Huskies a 6-point lead and the momentum to pull ahead by double digits. The Huskies maintained the lead for the remainder of the game.
