Volunteer Opportunities

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • Reunion Committees

Would you be willing to work with the Alumni Office to organize Reunion activities for your class? This year’s Reunion Committees have been instrumental in bringing back a record number of alumni. The Alumni Office is always seeking Reunion Committee volunteers.
  • Event Hosts

Would you be willing to host a reception in your home or sponsor a reception? The Alumni Office is frequently on the road and is seeks hosts across the country!
  • Phonathons

Phonathon volunteers help to fundraise in support of The Fund for New Hampton. The Fund supports all aspects of the NHS community from student activities, classroom supplies and faculty salaries. Phonathons are held at NHS approximately four times per year, and you can also call from whereever you are. It’s a great way to meet local alumni and parents and connect with friends and classmates across the country!
  • Arts Day

Arts Day is a day when all students, regardless of their study disciplines, get a chance to learn about and experience a new piece of the world of arts. This year’s programs included hip hop instruction, on-stage fencing techniques, hand drumming, hand bells, self-portraits and much more.

If you have a specialty, and would be interested in providing a student workshop, please be in touch.
  • Class Agents

A class agent is a fundraiser for their class. Class agents typically send one to two letters to classmates per year and are instrumental in keeping their peers up to date on what is happening at their alma mater. Help us reach out to your classmates and keep them connected to NHS.
  • Project Week

Project Week is an experiential learning project of the New Hampton School. The purpose of Project Week is to provide all students and faculty time for an extended and vigorous investigation of an essential question through outstanding educational opportunities that are not possible in the standard classroom setting.

Students engage in self-directed learning with appropriate adult guidance, and they self-reflect about the process, experience, and outcomes of their project throughout the week. A key component of the program is that students and faculty share their experiences and learned outcomes with the broader New Hampton School community, including parents and alumni.

Do you work with an organization that might be of interest to next year’s Project Week program? Let us know! Click here to learn more.

There are a number of opportunities for individuals to share their expertise, wisdom, stories, and life journeys and lessons with the NHS community. Community Meetings occur bi-weekly and begin with a presentation by a speaker followed by a formal dinner. We are looking for speakers for the 2016-17 school year.
